The Bea Zeeck AWC Scholarship was named in 1993 and is funded by the Lubbock Professional Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications in honor of Bea Zeeck. Bea served with Texas Tech News and Publications for 20 years (seven of those as director), was a past president of the chapter and a former student chapter advisor.
As an endowed scholarship, it is presented each year to a deserving Texas Tech Mass Communications student who is a member of the Texas Tech Student Chapter of Women in Communications.
The scholarship is funded through the chapter's annual fund-raising event: the Celebrity Luncheon.
